Audio Walk through 1930s Bloomsbury
Follow the trail of the refugees from Nazi Europe and find out how support was coordinated from Bloomsbury, how exiles contributed to Britain’s anti-Nazi propaganda war, and how activists plotting the Nazis’ downfall were spied on by MI5 agents. The walk brings to life work by the Research Centre for German & Austrian Exile Studies, and is illustrated by voices and images from the IMLR’s exile archives.
The tour is led by Clare George (Miller Archivist/Research Centre for German & Austrian Exile Studies at the ILCS), with contributions by Charmian Brinson (London) and Gareth Williams (London).
