Dr Jonny Johnston

Jonny Johnston is Policy & Research Advisor (Internationalisation)/Researcher at Trinity College Dublin. His doctoral research, supervised by Professor Jürgen Barkhoff (Chair of German 1776), explored literatures of migration in German-speaking Switzerland, with a particular focus on the emergence of post/colonialism as a key theme in German-Swiss writing in recent decades. His current research interests include cultural identity and minority writing, internationalisation in/of the curriculum, and evidence-based practice in higher education. Jonny’s doctoral research was funded by the Irish Research Council and also attracted archival support funding from the Swiss Federal Government, which enabled him to spend a year at the University of Basle as a visiting researcher.
