Jessica Falconi was awarded a PhD in Iberian Studies from the University of Naples ‘L’Orientale’ for her dissertation on representations of national identity in Mozambican poetry, which was published in Italy in 2008. From 2007 to 2013 she taught Brazilian literature and Portuguese language at Naples. She is currently the holder of a post-doctoral research grant awarded by the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia at the Research Centre on Africa, Asia and Latin America (CEsA) at the University of Lisbon (Ulisboa). Falconi has published various articles in international journals and has co-edited a book of interviews with Angolan and Mozambican writers (Peter Lang, 2014). She is involved in various research projects on African literature and cinema.
