Dr Chiara Giuliani
Lecturer in Italian Studies (University College Cork)

Profile
Dr Chiara Giuliani teaches Italian Literature and Culture in the Department of Italian at University College Cork, where she has been a Lecturer since 2016. Her main research interests are questions of home, memory and material culture in postcolonial narratives. This was also the topic of her first monograph Home, Memory and Belonging in Italian Postcolonial Literature (Palgrave, 2021). More recently she has been working on the cultural representation of the Chinese community in Italy, especially the role played by second-generation Chinese-Italians, and on the role of material culture in practices of mobility. On this topic, with Dr Kate Hodgson, she co-edited the volume Memory, Mobility and Material Culture (Routledge 2023).
