Aureliana Di Rollo has recently completed her PhD at Monash University (Melbourne) with a thesis on the representation of mother-daughter relationships in contemporary Italian women writers. Her background is in Classical studies, literary criticism, linguistics and gender studies. Her main fields of interests are the literary representation of motherhood and of the mother-daughter relationship in Italian women writers, the gendered use of Italian language (sexism, place names) and gender stereotypes in Italian opera. Before moving to Australia, Aureliana worked as a tenured teacher in an Italian Liceo Classico for 10 years, teaching Italian, Latin and Ancient Greek. She is author of several book chapters, journal articles and magazine articles in her fields of expertise. Since 2010 she has been teaching Italian at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts and other Australian Universities.
