ILAS was delighted to take part in the Being Human 2018 Festival this Saturday (17th November) with an event at Seven Sisters Indoor Market, London.  Jointly hosted by ILAS academic, Ainhoa Montoya, and Save Latin Village, the event combined stories from El Salvador's recent metal mining ban with presentations from Save Latin Village on its campaign to preserve the community market for future generations.  You can learn more about El Salvador's historic mining ban here and the Save Latin Village campaign here.

Many thanks to Fernando Esguerra for accommodating us at his stall and the community at Latin Village for the warm welcome.  Thank you also to Isabel Cadenas Cañón who produced the Historias de El Salvador narrations and Adelina de Morales at Cuzcatlan Catering for the amazing pupusas.  We are extremely grateful to the SAS Public Engagement Fund for their generous support of this event.
