Session Leader: Naomi Wells (ILCS)

In the 21st century cultural materials, environments and practices that originate in a digital form have rapidly expanded across the globe. This session will provide an introduction to the range of born-digital materials and collections that researchers can engage with, drawing on examples from different linguistic and cultural contexts. The session will also introduce a selection of theoretical and methodological approaches to born-digital research and explore some of the challenges and ethical issues involved.

Please note this session will involve small- and large-group discussions and those who register should be able to attend the full session and be prepared to interact with the session leader and the other participants. The initial presentation will be made available as a recording after the session.
