Revolutionary France
Senate House Library and the SAS libraries contain a wealth of material relating to the French Revolution and its aftermath. Senate House Library contains a significant amount of primary source material for the economic and legal history of France in this period. The Goldsmiths’ Library of Economic Literature contains around 1,000 legal documents from this period.
There are also a large number of boxed revolutionary pamphlets, supplemented further by a group in the archival collection (MS1148). The Porteus Library also includes a number of contemporary pamphlets and works relating to the French Revolution.
The Institute of Historical Research library’s holdings offer comprehensive coverage of the origins and history of the Revolution and Counter-Revolution, with a specifically regional focus.
