This conference, organised by the School of Modern Languages & Cultures at Durham University, explores the current debate around student uptake of Modern Languages, and our identity as a discipline. Modern Languages as an interdisciplinary field of study brings a spectrum of insights to urgent international challenges, such as debates around space, access, mobility, justice, and how the global and the local perspective are crucial to inform ongoing and new research in Modern Languages studies.
