Ulrike Draesner and Lyn Marven

Ulrike Draesner’s first collection of poems, gedächtnisschleifen, appeared in 1995. Since then, she has published copiously, most recently the novel Sieben Sprünge vom Rand der Welt (2014), the collection of poems subsong (2014) and Mein Hiddensee (2015). She has received numerous prestigious awards for her work, including the Solothurn literary prize (2010) and the Joachim-Ringelnatz-Preis for poetry (2014).
Lyn Marven is Lecturer of German at the University of Liverpool and a translator. Among her most notable translations is the collection of seventeen short prose texts, published as Berlin Tales in 2009. Marven's translation of Larissa Boehning's Schwalbensommer (Swallow Summer) was published in 2015.
