This conference will throw new light on the work of twin sisters Ilse Aichinger and Helga Michie, who responded to the tremors of the twentieth century through different creative media. Their work will be considered as reflections of their personal experiences and in the context of their time. 

Keynote speakers: Rüdiger Görner (QMUL), Christine Ivanovic (Vienna), Dolors Sabaté-Planes (Santiago de Compostela), Geoff Wilkes (Queensland).

The first day will be held at the Austrian Cultural Forum London, the second and third at the University of London's Senate House.
Attendance at this event is free, however, advance online registration is required. Booking closes 10 January 2020.
