The REF is an important part in every researcher’s life in the Higher Education environment of the UK. As a subject community it is essential that we share its findings and use them as a means of strengthening our disciplinary area. The AMLUK conference focuses on the question of impact. It provides a forum to discuss the processes involved in preparing an impact case study, it reflects on what we can learn from the impact case studies as a whole, and how the work that they have done can be incorporated into the self-definition of the subject area. The conference brings together researchers who have experience in preparing impact case studies and who, in a range of capacities, are engaged in work that supports the development of the subject area. The conference is intended to be of value to all members of the disciplinary community.
